It's easy to see when a soldier has been physically disabled by battle, it's much harder to recognize when someone is suffering mentally, socially, emotionally or spiritually.

Soldier readiness means that a service member is prepared to do their job. In order for a soldier to be able do their job they have to be healthy, in many ways, including: physically, mentally, socially, emotionally and spiritually.

Taking the time to *really listen* - not just hear - what our veterans have to say, is the first step to being able to meet their needs.

Ed shares about his background, including that he was born and raised in New Jersey, saying he "lost the accent, kept the attitude."

Ed discusses the importance of understanding the challenges and needs faced by our veterans and their families.
